Another beautiful day.....

For the rest of our time in Sorrento our days consisted of walks in the through the cobblestone streets, exploring the city, wandering into stores and taking it all in.  Sorrento is a beautiful city, the streets are full of life and energy.  We found Italian watches, Italian meats and cheeses (yes we shipped an entire leg of Proscuitto home!) beautiful ceramics, gorgeous flowers and plants and so much more.....  We would typically stop at a fruit and vegetable stand and get "lunch" makings, taking it back to the hotel, cleaning it up and eating on our balcony with a nice bottle of local wine.  Duane and I agreed that there really isn't "bad" wine in Italy and we particularly loved trying the local wines.  We enjoyed local restaurants and took one more day trip to Positano, such a picturesque, lovely spot...here are some pictures of our last few days in Southern Italy.

Dinner at L'Antiqua Tratorria.
This restaurant is nestled within the stores on the streets of Sorrento, a secret Garden inside.

Ravello, Amalfi and Positano....plus an amazing dinner!

This was an incredible day!!  Our driver Gianluca drove us from Sorrento to Ravello; spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast.  Then we drove back up the coast to Amalfi and ended up in Positano for dinner at La Tagliata, www.latagliata.com/en/homepage
a restaurant you must visit if you are ever in Postiano!  The food was amazing, no menu, they brought you food fresh baked from their garden (you pass it on the stairs to the restaurant) local wine they make continues to flow all night, and if you are there on a Thursday there is live music that is part of the evening experience, all tables are singing and laughing....it was a night to remember!

Capri and Anacapri, Italy

We took the ferry over to the island of Capri and Anacapri....it was spectacular!  We hired a taxi driver to show us around and we did that in the most stylish taxi on the island!!  The 13 minute chairlift that took you to the top of Anacapri was so peaceful and the views were breathtaking!

The Amalfi Coast!

The last week of our trip we spent on the Beautiful Amalfi Coast.  We got off the ship in Naples and had a driver waiting to take us to a lovely hotel in Sorrento.  Pompei was on the way so we made it our first stop before Sorrento.  And we thought we had seen the most beautiful parts of this country already.....

Cruising the Mediterranean

We spent 10 wonderful days Cruising from Rome to Sicily to Turkey (Kusadasi) then on to Greece, including Athens, Santorini, Rhodes and Mykonos, back to Italy where we got off 1 day early in Naples and had a driver waiting to take us to Sorrento to spend the last 5 days of out trip on the Amalfi Coast...it was incredible, breathtaking, heavenly - words cannot describe the beauty we saw, hopefully some pictures can capture it for us to share our experience with you.
